Although age finally caught up with her and we had planned to put her down in the summer of ‘05, Bonny had too much will in her heart and strength in her eye to ever let us do it. She ended up pregnant after a midnight raid by Merlin, and seemed quite determined to see it through. She had a single buck kid on Feb.3, ‘06 - she had made it into her 13th year - with no effort or complications whatsoever. Actually he was the largest and strongest kid born of about two dozen that same time, and is Wonderful!

In less than a week, Bonny let us know that she felt she had no more need to live, and was laid to rest under a newly planted Red Bud tree.
