Produced 2002 Spotlight Sale Consignment doeling by Merlin, Mayan Fantasy

DHIR:  5-02 305d 3330# 131f  118p

Maya was sold in the spring of 2003, after producing another buck (in MD) and doe (in Mo) from Merlin. She was looking lovely and milking 15 # to 16# a day. Live has funny quirks and turns, but luckily I was able to purchase her back in Jan. of ‘04, pregnant with triplet does sired by the high selling Spotlight buck LYNHAVEN PRINCE OF PARADISE. I retained all three in the herd, but they were on lease last year to a dairy as first fresheners. Maya was in rough shape but still trying to give her 2 gallons daily (this is a small goat friends) and I worked to dry her off to the detriment of her udder. She kidded again late spring ‘05 with an outstanding buckling from Oscar, who joined another of her son’s in the Loveland herd in Mo.
For 2006 she was bred to Tied up in Silver, hoping for more leg under her, and kidded Feb. 3 with a tiny doeling and 2 bucks. Unfortunately the largest one was smothered when some older kids got into his pen. The doeling, “RED HOT MAMA” will be a permanent fixture here, looks just like her mama. The buckling strawberry roan with Maya’s nose & very correct - will be working in the High Peaks Herd in Wyoming this season. At nine years, Maya is having trouble holding any weight on her, and I may not breed her again.
